I have been busy updating the house! I'm a little behind in posting, but wanted to get at least some basics on here so I remember all this stuff down the road. I made over our entryway a few months ago. Basically, painted all the brown trim white (I'll be painting trim until the end of time), painted the walls (Perfect Beige by Behr, which is that nice greige color), added board and batten, and helped a friend make a bench and shelf. I really love how it turned out. Much more inviting than the old!
Before we bought it:

Can you spy tiny Evelyn? |
After we bought it, but still before remodeling:
Pretty dingy. Don't know how much dust was in those curtains
We don't get a ton of natural light in the entryway so until we get a new door, some white paint hopefully will help
During:
Painting
Board and Batten - I deserved this wine. It was the night by wallet got lost/stolen at Home Depot
Little Helpers - testing out the new bench!
Staining
AFTER!!
The beautiful custom made shelf and bench!
old window my brother gave me that I cleaned up, painted, and sanded
this was the before. EEK!
I am really happy with the results. A couple more things I want to do- put in sheers on the sidelites, fresh up the bannister, apply some grout renew to the tile, and now that I'm reminded of how almond the doorbell box is in the pictures that will be painted too!
And because I love side by side before and afters:
